مع اشتعال فتيل الثورات العربية وما آلت إليه من إسقاط لعدد من الأنظمة العربية في الوطن العربي، ومن استعداد لإسقاط أخرى أو إحداث تغييرات سياسية جوهرية في أنظمة أخرى، سعى مركز دراسات الشرق الأوسط – الأردن إلى مراقبة هذه التحولات ودراسة مراحلها، وعلى رأسها الانتقال من النظام السياسي السابق في دولة ما إلى نظام سياسي جديد بكل مكوناته ومقوماته، وقد كان عنوان "المرحلة الانتقالية" بارزا في مرحلة ما بعد الثورة في دول الثورات التي سقط نظامها، كتونس ومصر وليبيا، حيث لا بد من تسليط الضوء على هذه المرحلة بين سقوط أنظمة قديمة وقيام أخرى جديدة تحرص على ضمان الاستقرار فيها، وهو عنوان سيبحث ويركز عليه في دول الثورات القائمة، كاليمن وسوريا، سواء بسقوط النظام فيها أو إعادة بنائه على أسس ومقومات جديدة. ومن هنا، فقد عقد المركز حلقة نقاشية تناولت بالوصف والتحليل عنوان "إدارة المرحلة الانتقالية ما بعد الثورات العربية " بتاريخ 21/9/2011 في عمان. وها نحن ننشر وقائع هذه الحلقة التي تناولت الموضوع من خلال ثلاثة فصول، تناول الأول ''مفهوم وطبيعة ومكونات المرحلة الانتقالية ما بعد الثورة وأنماطها"، وتناول الثاني "العوامل الأساسية الحاكمة لإدارة المرحلة الانتقالية ما بعد الثورة"، إضافة إلى الفصل الثالث الذي قدم "أبرز التحديات والأولويات الوطنية والإقليمية والدولية والتوصيات لإدارة المرحلة الإنتقالية". وفي هذا التقديم أود الإشارة إلى أن حلقة النقاش أخذت أسلوب الحوار والنقاش وإبداء الأفكار من كل الزملاء الباحثين المشاركين، ولم تعتمد أسلوب تقديم أوراق علمية لتكون مدخلا أساسيا للنقاش، بل كان النقاش مفتوحا.
