عبد الستار توفيق قاسم الخضر كاتب ومفكر ومحلل سياسي وأكاديمي فلسطيني، ولد في بلدة دير الغصون بمحافظة طولكرم، وهو أستاذ العلوم السياسية و الدراسات الفلسطينية في جامعة النجاح الوطنية في نابلس. له رصيد سياسي ونضالي وطني ضد الاحتلال التوسعي الإسرائيلي من خلال كتاباته، وينقد ويطرح الأسئلة الكبرى، قد انتقد نهج أوسلو ومسلكيات جماعة أوسلو، ورفض نهج التسوية والمفاوضات السياسية بين حركة فتح وإسرائيل، ووقف ضد الفساد في أروقة السلطة الوطنية الفلسطينية ودوائرها المتعددة. ونتيجة مواقفه تعرض للكثير من المساءلات والتحقيقات والملاحقات السياسية من قبل الأجهزة الأمنية الفلسطينية، التي اودعته السجن أكثر من مرة. و يعتبر تنسيق السلطة أمنيًّا مع الاحتلال "خيانة عظمى".
حياته الشخصية
حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في العلوم السياسية من الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، ثم على درجة الماجستير في العلوم السياسية من جامعة ولاية كنساس الأمريكية، ثم درجة الماجستير في الاقتصاد من جامعة ميزوري الأمريكية، ثم الدكتوراه في الفلسفة السياسية من جامعة ميزوري أيضاً عام 1977. ورتبته الأكاديمية بروفيسور في جامعة النجاح.
أستاذ في جامعة النجاح الوطنية، وأستاذ مساعد في الجامعة الأردنية عام 1978، وأنهيت خدماته بعد سنة ونصف (عام 1979) لأسباب سياسية على إثر اجتياح إسرائيل لجنوب لبنان، و سابقاً أستاذ في جامعة بيرزيت، وجامعة القدس.
جوائز
حاز على جائزة عبد الحميد شومان في مجال العلوم السياسية.

تبحث هذه الدراسة في أصل ومكانة وذرية سيدنا إبراهيم عليه اسلام وفي الميثاق مع بني إسرائيل في كل من التوراة والانجيل والقرآن. إنها محاولة لقراءة النصوص حول هذا الموضوع في الكتب الثلاثة وتحليلها واستخلاص العبرة السياسية منها، والتي يمكن أن يكون لها تأثير ما في الوقت الحاضر. إن هناك ربط في السياق بين مختلف الأفكار الواردة والقيم الأخلاقية في الكتب، وذبك لكي يكتمل التصور حول النظرة العامة لمختلف الكتب حول الموضوع شأن البحث. وهذا البحث لا يهتم إطلاقا بقضية أصالة ما هو وارد في الكتب الثلاثة. فهذه مسألة تترك للمؤرخين ولا تشكل بالنسبة إلى الباحث إلا أمر تاريخيا لا علاقة له بجوهر ما هو موجود. يأخذ الباحث الكتب الثلاثة باعتبارها كتبا مقدسة للديانات الثلاث، وهي تشكل جوهر وقواعد الإيمان لدى جمهور المؤمنين من اليهود والمسيحيين والمسلمين. فسواء آمن الباحث أو لم يؤمن بما ورد في أي من الكتب الثلاثة، وسواء آمن القارئ أو لم يؤمن، فإن الحقيقة تبقى قائمة وهي أن أصحاب واتباع تلك الكتب، يتمسكون بها بصفتها كتبا سماوية تنطق بالحقيقة. وهكذا فإن هذه الدراسة لا تستقصي تأريخية الكتب وإنما تنقب عن الفكر المطروح فيها.
