يتناول الكتاب مسار الفلسفة الحديث، بادئاً ببيان خصائصها، ثم المراحل التي مرت بها وهي: عصر النهضة، وعصر التنوير، والفترة المثالية، والفترة المعاصرة، وبذلك يغطي مساحة واسعة من تاريخ الفلسفة، ومن هنا كان كتاباً لا غنى عنه لكل مثقف!.
