بإطار من الحنين والشاعرية والبساطة والعمق والحبكة الروائية، يعبّر المؤلف عن معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني، ويعالج حسّه وعمق مشاعره التي أصيبت بالإنكسار بفعل الوضع السياسي العام القاسي من ترحيل واضطهاد وإكراهات وآلام، كما يذكّر بحقوقه المسلوبة، من حقه في العودة، إلى حقه في العيش الكريم، كل ذلك بطريقة سردية بعيدة عن الخطاب السياسي وعن التكلف وعن البرودة الجافة.
إنه فعل إلتزام بتاريخ شعب بكل تفاصيله الحياتية اليومية، للإبقاء عليه حيا في الذاكرة بأجوائه وكائناته وطريقة عيش أبنائه، وتدوينه في سياق روائي جميل، قد يكون له فعل أقوى من أي فعل سياسي آخر.
ويجدر الإشارة الى أن هذا الكتاب قد حاز على جائزة النادي الثقافي العربي أفضل غلاف المرتبة الأولى - لبنان لعام 2009.
