يبين الكتاب المراحل التاريخية الطويلة التي تم بها تدوين التلمود من قبل حاخامات اليهود، والشروحات التي ازدحمت على حواشي التوراة وجملتها آراء تفسيرية للحاخامات، فضلا من انها اضحت الشريعة الشفوية لدى اليهود وبحسب رؤى كل واحد منهم وتفسيره. وقد عرج الكتاب على محتوى التلمود كدراسة وصفية على ان تتم الدراسة التحليلية للاقسام الاخرى للتلمود في مراحل زمنية ليست ببعيدة ان شاء الله تعالى، وستنشر هذه الدراسات بسلسلة حسب اقسام التلمود.
