حرير الروح شآم
تتحدث المؤلّفة عن طريق الحرير. كان يتمّ تبادل الحرير والتوابل واللغات والموسيقى والمسرح والفن ما بين البلدان.
جالت المؤلّفة في معظم بقاع الشام، وبحثت وأنجزت دراستها... ثم، عثرت على رؤى ويوميات تلك الشابة الملائكية "شآم" التي حكت لنا عن يومياتها ما بين 1920 و1925... وعادت بذاكرتها للأحداث الدامية التي في دمشق 1860...
وتعود مع حكاية دودة القزّ وولادتها بالصين، الألف الثالثة ق. م.: أميرة صينية أحبّت أميراً هندياً، فظهر الحرير في الهند ومنها شاع سرّ الحرير حتى بلغ حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط، 555م ... واشتهرت مدن عديدة بتربيته وغزله وصبغه: تدمر، أنطاكيا، صور، دمشق، سفوح لبنان وفلسطين...
هناك أمر عجيب وغريب ونبيل وإنساني في قصة الحرير مع أن إنسان اليوم قد تناسى كل صلة بهذه الصفة النبيلة بعدما أماتتها مادية الإنسان.
تدوم حياة دودة القز قرابة شهرين، وتنهي مسيرة حياتها بعدما أدّت وأنهتْ واجباتها.
تبدأ مذكرات "شآم" في 31 تموز 1920 بمعركة ميسلون واستشهاد البطل يوسف العظمة... ثم ترجع بنا إلى تموز 1860 حينما حدثت المجزرة وانتشرت حوادث القتل على الهوية، واستشهد "أبو شآم" وهو يدافع عن جاره "الخواجة جريس"، فدُفِنا معاً وكانا رمزاً للأخوة الإنسانية ولتعانق المسيحية والإسلام تحت راية الحب...
وتروي شآم زيارة "سمعان" ابن الخواجة جريس، وحبٌ صامت وروحي بينهما... فماذا جرى بينهما؟
