في وردة بلون الدم تتقاطع حكاية ضياء ونور مع نبض مدينة دير الزور في لحظاتها الأولى قبل أن تنفجر شرارة الثورة السورية. بين الشوارع التي كانت تنبض بالحياة، والمقاهي التي يختبئ فيها الخوف خلف الهمسات، تتبدّل المدينة من توترٍ خفيف إلى عاصفة حربٍ تبتلع ملامحها شيئاً فشيئاً.
ترافق الرواية تفاصيل يومية من حياة الناس، ارتباكهم، أحلامهم الصغيرة، ومحاولاتهم البسيطة للتمسّك بالطمأنينة. وسط هذا التحوّل القاسي، ينمو حبّ ضياء ونور كضوءٍ خافت يقاوم العتمة، ويمنح الحكاية نبضها الإنساني العميق. إنها رواية عن مدينة تتغيّر، وقلوب تحاول النجاة، وحبٍّ يصرّ على البقاء رغم كل شيء
