لأنَّ الاستقبال الَّذي حظي به ألان توران في الثَّقافة العربيَّة من ناحية تعريب أعماله والتّعريف بفكره والاشتغال عليه ظلَّ فاترًا مقارنةً بالحفاوة المكثَّفة الَّتي حظي بها لدى المثقَّفين الغربيِّين وعموم القرّاء من غير مُواطنيه الفرنسيِّين، تأتي هذه المحاولة دراسةً لفكر توران من منظور حضاريّ يسعى إلى وضع هذا المثقَّف في سياقه المعرفيِّ ضمن الثَّقافة الغربيَّة المعاصرة أوّلا ويحاول ثانيا نزع أو فكِّ التَّغييب الَّذي يلفُّ مشروعه الفكريّ ببسط القول في ثناياه من جهة نقد الحداثة الغربيَّة بدءا ومحاولة اجتراح بديل يُجاوز أزمتها مردًّا.
