مجموعة "بالقرب من المقالح" هي ديوان شعري صادر عن الشاعر بشار العقاب، وتُمثل مرثية شعرية مطوّلة ومفعمة بالشجن للراحل الكبير عبد العزيز المقالح، أحد أبرز وجوه الشعر والأدب في اليمن الحديث. تتخذ هذه المجموعة طابعًا وجدانيًا مكثفًا، حيث ينسج العقاب قصائد تحمل في طياتها الحزن، والاحتجاج، والحنين، والحبّ لوطن ينهشه الألم، في مشهد شعري تتداخل فيه صنعاء كرمز، والمقالح كذاكرة حية، واليمن كجرح مفتوح.
في هذه المجموعة، يتحول المقالح إلى ضوءٍ باهت يحاول الشاعر الإمساك به وسط عتمة الوطن المنكسر، إذ يستحضر روحه لا باعتباره شاعرًا فقط، بل بوصفه صوتًا للأمل، حارسًا للقصيدة، وأبًا روحيًا لصنعاء والثقافة. المجموعة تمزج بين الرثاء الشخصي والسياسي، وتطرح أسئلة عميقة عن الوطن، الله، الحرب، والانتماء، بل وتخاطب "الإله" في لحظات من التمرد واليأس الصادق.
اللغة في هذه المجموعة تنبض بالعاطفة، غنية بالصوَر الشعرية، مشبعة بالرمزية والأسى، وتنتقل ما بين قصائد رثائية، تأملات وجودية، واحتجاجات سياسية وإنسانية، وكلها تحت ظلال المقالح كأيقونة ومرجع.
