في قرية هادئة محاطة بالمستنقعات والأراضي الزراعية، كانت سُكينة تذهب كل صباح إلى المستنقع القديم، المكان الذي احتفظ بصمته رغم مرور السنوات، حيث كانت أزهار اللوتس تُزهر ثم تختفي دون تفسير. لم يكن المستنقع مجرد بقعة مائية بالنسبة لها، بل سرًا مدفونًا بين الطين والجذور العتيقة.
لكن حين بدأت في البحث عن السبب وراء اختفاء اللوتس، اكتشفت أن الماضي لم يُدفن بالكامل. كلما تعمقت أكثر، كلما وجدت نفسها أمام حقيقة أكبر من مجرد زهور توقفت عن النمو، كان هناك تاريخ صامت، أسماء منسية، وقرار اتُخذ قبل سنوات ولم يُكشف عنه أبداً.
وفي الليلة الأخيرة عند الماء، حين تحول الصمت إلى شيء أكثر رعبًا، وجدت سُكينة نفسها أمام موعد لم يكن مع اللوتس فقط، بل مع الحقيقة ذاتها.
فهل كانت كل تلك الرحلة حقيقية؟ أم أن المستنقع أخفى أكثر مما يمكن للعقل استيعابه؟
