الخطوة الثالثة هي الإعداد لحل المشكلة، وهي الخطوة التي تضع قدم المتعافي على البداية الحقيقية لطريق التعافي حيث يبدأ بأساسيات وقواعد التعافي التي يجب القيام بها قبل الخطوة التي تليها وهي تنفيذ الحل.
