يتناول الكتاب تاريخ الأزياء في العصور الإسلامية تناولا مفصلا وموسعا حيث يتناول الأزياء منذ عصر ما قبل الإسلام فالعصر الإسلامى الأول ثم العصر الأموى فالعباسى فالفاطمى ثم معابر الحضارة الإسلامية إلى الغرب وما يخص الأزياء فى هذا الصدد بشكل خاص ثم العصر الأيوبى وما صاحبه من سلجوقى إلى نهاية العصر العثمانى وما صاحب هذه العصور من تغيرات سياسية كانت لها أثرها المباشر فى الأزياء كما يشير إلى أصولها متضمنا تحليلات ورؤى للكاتبة كما تطرق إلى أثر الأزياء في الشرق الإسلامي فى تاريخ الأزياء في العصور الإسلامية
