كان مقررا لهذا العمل أن يتحول إلى فيلم سينمائي لواحد من نجوم الصف الأول في السينما المصرية منذ أكثر من خمسة وعشرين عاما، وصِيغت نسخته الأولى كسيناريو تنقل عدة مرات بين عدد من المخرجين قبل أن تحكم الظروف الإنتاجية عليه أن يظل حبيس صفحاته كل هذه المدة، وعندما قلبت أوراقي القديمة عثرت على مخطوطتي الأولى منه، كمن عثر على خبيئة تستحق الخروج إلى النور، وأن تجد لها مكانا في يد القارئ المريد، كأن أحداثه صالحة لكل وقت وزمان، حتى لو مر على ما أريق في أحبارها ربع قرن من الزمان، فأعدت صياغته بما يستحق ليتحول إلى رواية أدبية محطما الناموس الداعي لتحويل الكتابات الأدبية لعمل سينمائي أو تلفزيوني؛ لتنعكس الآية، ويتحول مشروع الفيلم السينمائي وأوراق حواره إلى رواية أدبية تهتم بالوصف على حساب الحوار، كما جرت العادة، وتكسو كلماته الأدبية شخصياته لحما ودما وحياة، وتبعث في أحداثه جزالة الكلمات، وحلاوة الروح ليكتمل عملا أدبيا خالصا من جديد.. وقد قصدت أن أُبقي على حوارات شخصياته بلُغتها العامية التي كتبت بها أول مرة احتراما لأصل العمل وعذرية الكلمات، فيما بثثت في وصف أحداثه ما عرفته من ألوان وفنون الكتابة بأسلوبي المعتمد على اللغة الفصحى، والعبارات المنمقة التي تعبر عن أسلوبي في الكتابة والرواية، فخرج عملا يجمع بين لغة الضاد المكتوبة والعامية المسموعة في مزيج أرجو أن يتقبله القارئ الكريم، وأن يكرم وِفادته…
