- تظهر أعراض هذا المرض بعد عمر السنتين.
- يسبّب هذا المرض اختلالاً في العظام؛ مثل حدوث بروزٍ في المنطقة الأماميّة من الرأس، وانخفاض وتدمير في جسر الأنف، وظهوره على شكل سرج الحصان ( saddle nose )
- يسبّب هذا المرض التهاب القرنيّة الخلالي ( interstitial keratitis)، وفقدان السّمع العصبي الحسّي، والتهاب مفصلي الرّكبة وتورّمهما (clutton joints )، وتشوّه الأسنان على شكل نتوءٍ في قواطعها ويسمّى ذلك بهاتشينسون ( Hutchinson incisors )
- يسبّب هذا المرض الزّهري العصبي، وتشكّل التصمّغات.
