عاصرت الثورةَ السورية منذ بداياتها عام 2011، وكنتُ شاهداً على معظم أحداثها. الأحداث التي كانت سبباً رئيساً في دفعي تجاه الكتبِ والقراءةِ والكتابة.

أرضاً شاسعة، رأيت أن الشمس لا تشرق إلا عندما تفتحين عينيك وأن البدر لا يكون مدهشأ إلا عندما تحيطين شعرك به في سياق هجرتي لعينيك علمت أنهما وطني الأول

لم يكن الأمرُ هيناً، أن يُحبَ القلبُ أحداً تحتَ نارِ البراميلِ المتفجرة، أن يغرقُ المرء في عشقِ أحدٍ بينما يعيشُ تحت ركامِ الحرب.. سنتانِ من الحبِّ أحيينني وسط كل ذلك الموت
