"كنت أظن أن الحب امتحان للصبر، وأن قلبي إذا صمد كفاية رح يغير النتيجة، لكنني اكتشفت متأخرة أن بعض الامتحانات ما إلها علامات، بل إلها خسارات. أحببته وأنا أراقب صمته، وأفسّر غيابه، وأختلق له الأعذار كي لا أواجه الحقيقة، إلى أن جاء اليوم الذي توقفت فيه عن الركض خلفه، ليس لأنني نسيت، بل لأنني تعبت من أن أكون الوحيدة التي تقاتل في قصة يفترض أنها بين اثنين.
قلت له: يا بكون كل شي يا ولا شي… فاخترت ‘ولا شي’ على أمل أن أتحرر، لكني في الحقيقة كنت أتركه يبتعد أكثر، وأقنع نفسي أن النهاية واضحة. مرّت الأيام ثقيلة، مليئة بالصمت، والرسائل غير المردود عليها، والقلق الذي كنت أسميه حبًا، حتى جاء ذلك الفراغ الذي ظننته نهاية كل شيء.
لكن الحياة، بطريقة لا أفهمها، تعيد ترتيب القلوب عندما تتوقف عن المطاردة. عاد الكلام تدريجيًا، عاد السؤال، عاد الاهتمام الذي كنت أظنه انتهى، ليس كإجابة على صرختي، بل كتحول هادئ في الطرف الآخر أيضًا. لم يعد هو البعيد الذي أفسّر صمته، ولم أعد أنا تلك التي تنتظر اعترافًا من طرف واحد. شيئًا فشيئًا، بدأنا نتكلم كما لو أننا نعيد اكتشاف بعضنا من جديد، لكن هذه المرة بلا خوف، بلا صمت طويل، بلا اختفاء مفاجئ.
وفي اللحظة التي كنت أظن فيها أن القصة انتهت، فهمت أن بعض النهايات ليست نهاية، بل إعادة بداية بوعي مختلف، وبقلوب أنهكتها المسافة ثم قررت أخيرًا أن تلتقي في المنتصف. ومع الوقت، لم يعد الحب طرفًا واحدًا… بل أصبح حبًا من اثنين."
