ولم أدر حين بدأت كتابة الرواية، أن أكون الراوي والشاعر.. وحلمت بأن أصبح شاعر الرواية، وأكون القصيدة ووزنها وأصير حروف بحورها وجنونها،
وأنا من أنا؟ وأمامى قافلة شعراء للرواية ترى من يكون ألِفها ومن يكون يائها ربما أنا قصيدة نثر وحكي وسرد ثائرة، ربما أنا الرواية ودمي حبرها وعنواني شموخها..
عندما دخلت عالم الرواية، وأنا كاتب مسرحي، جعلت من الرواية أبا للفنون؛ فيها الديكور والشعر والسينما والموسيقى والإضاءة والكورس والدراما وأيضا الأبطال والرواة..
سامحوني على جنوني؛ لقد خلعت من على رأس الرواية قبعة الأجنبي الخواجة وعمامة العرب، وجعلتها حرة.. حرة مثلي، ولكنني لم أكن أدري: ما فعلت بي الرواية وما فعلته بها؛ فاغفروا لي ولها.
