كتاب أدبي، عبارة عن نصوص نثرية وشعرية قصيرة جالت في بالي على مدار ثلاث أو أربع سنوات، كتبتها على فترات متفرّقةٍ، وظروف متفاوتةٍ... حاولت إطلاعكم فيها على بعض ما تجري بهِ أيّامي. غالباً ما كنت أكتبها في الليل وهو مدار الكتاب وعنوانه، وبعد أن طلب أحد إخواني الفضلاء منّي جمعها في كتاب صغير وطبعه لبّيتُ طلبَه راجيا من ﷲ النّفع، وﷲ من وراء القصد، ولم تكن غايتي إلاّ بعث سعادةٍ في قلب عبدٍ مسكينٍ يجلس وحده في غرفته باحثا عن شيء يجبر خاطره، وقد عاهدت نفسي ألاّ أكتب هذه الحروف ليتَابعني النّاس ويكثروا سوادي، ولم أرجُ من ذلك إلاّ الاستئناس وإذهاب اليأس!
ولْتنتبه عزيزي القارئ إلى أنّي لستُ من الذين يُكرِّسونَ أقلامهم لمواضيعَ محدّدةٍ؛ فقد تأتيني أيام لا أكتب فيها إلا عن الأخلاق مثلاً أو عن الدين أو الشّوق أو غير ذلك؛ فكأنّي أحاول أن أكتُب برُوحي لا بقلمي؛
أرجو أن يروقكم ما جمعته من عبرٍ وحكمٍ ونصائح كانت الغاية من ورائها النصيحة والتوجيه، أو التذكير والتنبيه، وأحيانا تكون للتسلية والترفيه، أو على الأقلّ تكونوا قد استأنستم بأبيات أو لطيفة من اللطائف.
