قال عنه الدكتور/ عبد العزيز المقالح في تقديمه لديوان الشاعر «هكذا يَبكي الغَريب»:
" أعترف ثانية أنّني ما كدت أطوي الصّفحة الأولى من صفحات الدّيوان حتّى أدركت أنّني إزاء شاعر متمكّن في فنّ الشّعر وبارع في أوزانه وقوافيه، وفي الصّور الواقعيّة والمتخيّلة الّتي رسمها بفن وإتقان، لقد قرأت كثيراً ممّا يكتبه الشّعراء الشّبان من قصائد "بيتيّة" عموديّة فما وجدت من يشبه "عمّار" في قهره للّغة وإخضاعها لما يريد أن يقوله من خلالها"
