اهتمم المؤرخون بقضية هجرة الحبشة الأولى والثانية، وبرغم كثير من محاولات الدارسين قديما وحديثا فهم تلك الأحداث إلا أن أحدا لم يصل إلى نتائج حاسمة، ويعزو كثير من الباحثين ذلك لأن البعض اعتمد على معلومات مكررة ومعادة في كتب السير والمغازي والتاريخ، ثم إنهم اقتصروا على النظرة السطحية كثير من أحداث السيرة النبوية، دون اللجوء إلى الدراسة والبحث الدقيق بين الروايات المختلفة، فأغلب الكتابات لم تقدم إجابة وافية شافية ومقنعة لكثير من المشكَلات المتعلقة بالهجرة، وقد قدم الباحث دراسة موجزة لموضوع الهجرة إلى الحبشة، وقد حاول دراسة موضوع الهجرة دراسة تحليلية بين من خلالها أسباب الهجرة والظروف المحيطة بالمسلمين وقتها، وأحداث الرحلة وأسماء المهاجرين وأهم الأحداث والوقائع والسبب الداعي للهجرة الأولى والثانية وسبب العودة والرد على بعض شبهات المستشرقين، وقام الباحث باستخلاص بعض الفوائد واللطائف من قصة الهجرة.
