ولاء تلك الفتاة الجميلة, دقيقة الملامح صاحبة الوجه الطفولى البيبى فيس، كما يحب أن يطلق عليها البعض، فلا ينقصها إلا فقدان بعض الكيلوجرامات من وزنها حتى تتمكن من ارتداء فستان مثل سهى ابنة خالتها أو تقود دراجة، كما كانت تحلم منذ أمد بعيد. فشلت كل محاولات أسرتها لإبعادها عن الطعام الذى أضحى لها بمثابة الإدمان و صار إقلاعها عنه فى حكم المستحيل، وإجبارها على القيام بعملية تخسيس بالجراحة أو بالنظام الغذائى دايت صار دربا من دروب الجنون. وأدى ذلك لزيادة وزنها العامين الآخرين بشكل مبالغ فيه، حتى تعدى وزنها مائة وعشرين كيلو جراما، وأصبحت كالجثة الهامدة أسيرة المنزل, رافضة أى شكل من أشكال التواصل الاجتماعى مع الآخرين، حتى الوظيفة، التى استطاع أبوها أن يوفرها لها بأحد البنوك الأجنبية الكبيرة، رفضتها وأصرت على موقفها العجيب من الإفراط فى الطعام، وأضحت ولاء وحيدة أمها و أبيها لغزا كبيرا محيرا لهما ولكل أقاربها ومعارفها.
