كنت أردد دائمًا أنني مختلف، أنا لست من هنا، لكن لا أعلم أكنت على صوابٍ من أمري أم كنت مخطئًا، هل أنا حقًا كنت مختلفًا أم لا؟
رأيتُ أشعة الشمس تشرق في هذا الصباح، يجب أن أجعل جدي يستيقظ، يجب أن يذهب إلى العمل في محل الورود، نعم، يملك جدي محل ورودٍ أسفل المنزل، في حي بسيط، يكاد يأتي إلينا كل يوم ثلاثة زبائن، نحن نسكن في مدينة "سمنود"، محافظة الغربية، أمام إحدى المدارس التجريبية، في حجرته وجدتُ جدي "عليّ شاهين" ممسكًا بكتاب الله يقرأ سورة الكهف، ما إن أبصرني قام بالتصديق ثم ابتسم قائلًا: قد استيقظتُ قبل أن تأتي إلى حجرتي يا محمود، قلت لك لن تستطيع.
