في هذا الكتاب..
وقفت المناهج النقدية بين طرفي نقيض؛ بين مناهج سياقية قاربت النص الأدبي من جهة مؤلفه وكاتبه ومبدعه, فجعلته العنصر الأساس في الفهم وإدراك المعاني على حساب تفسيرات القارئ وتأويلاته. وبين مناهج أخرى نسقية حايثت النص الأدبي ونفت عنه أيّ علاقة تقع خارجه, وذلك في إطار النص ولغته ودلالتها على حساب صاحبه ومُتلقّيه.
هنا قفزت نظرية التلقي على سطح النقد الأدبي وخطت خطوة مغايرة عن سابقاتها انقلبت فيها على المقاربات السائدة للنصوص وأوْلت زمامها إلى القارئ (المتلقي), بوصفه فاعلا رئيسا, ومتفاعلا كذلك مع معاني النص لإنتاج نص جديد.
