الخطيب التَّبريزي (421 - 502 هـ / 1030 - 1109 م) هو لغوي عربي ، من أهل تبريز.
هو أبو زكريا يحيى بن علي بن محمد الشيباني التبريزي وشهرته الخطيب التَّبريزي.[1] ولد في تبريز سنة 421 هـ / 1030 م و أخد على أبي العلاء المعري.[2] نشأ ببغداد ورحل إلى بلاد الشام، و دخل مصر.
ثم عاد إلى بغداد، فقام على خزانة الكتب في المدرسة النظامية إلى أن توفي في الثامن والعشرين من جمادى الأولى سنة 502 هـ / 4 كانون الثاني سنة 1109 م.[3] له آثار كثيرة اشتهر منها شرحه للمفضليات و المعلقات.
وهذا ثبت لآثاره: «شرح ديوان الحماسة لأبي تمام» «تهذيب إصلاح المنطق لابن السكيت» «تهذيب الألفاظ لابن السكيت» «شرح سقط الزند للمعري» «شرح اختيارات المفضل الضبي» «الوافي في العروض والقوافي» «شرح القصائد العشر» «الملخص في إعراب القرآن» «شرح المشكل من ديوان أبي تمام» «شرح شعر المتنبي» «شرح اللمع لابن جني» «شرح المقصورة الدريدية» «شرح بانت سعاد» «مقاتل الفرسان» ------------------------- 1-البعلبكي، منير (1991).

كتاب مهم في علم الحديث يعود اصله الى كتاب مصابيح السنة للامام البغوي الذي صنفه مجرداعن الاسانيد من غير راوي الحديث، وقد قسمه قسمين مصطلحا لنفسه اصطلاحا لم يقم به غيره من علماء الحديث حيث قسمه الى صحاح وحسان. وبسبب شهرة هذا الكتاب وأهمية مؤلفه فقد تقبله الناس وأقبل عليه العلماء فألفوا حوله المختصرات ويمتاز الكتاب بالخلو من الاخطاء وحسن التخريج للأحاديث وحسن الاخراج الفني بالاضافة الى ترقيم الاحاديث؛ مما يسهل تناول الكتاب على كل قارئ.
