الكتاب عبارة عن خواطر حزينة يتألف من 24 وعشرين خاطرة كل خاطرة تحمل قصة و مشاعر معينة ، وبعد كل خاطرة توجد رسالة عن تلك الخاطرة منها تفاؤلية، و بعضها حزينة و اخرى دعاء ، و بعضها نصيحة.
الخواطر كلها تصب في احساس واحد و هو الحزن تحمل آلام ذات قصص حقيقية و معبرة من المجتمع.
تلك الخواطر عبارة عن صراعات نفسية مع الأنا حيث تغلقها حوارات و أسئِلة يطرحها الانسان مع نفسه اي حروب نفسيه يواجهها الانسان عند آلامه و أحزانه يحاول الإجابة عنها و الاجابة تكمن في الرسالة التي تلي الخاطرة
