ذكر الله تعالى أنه أنشأنا من نفس واحدة وجعل لها مستقرا ومستودعا فما هو هذا المستقر وهذا المستودع وأين يكونان ؟ قال تعالى فى سورة الأنعام : ( وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ فَمُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمُسْتَوْدَعٌ ۗ قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَفْقَهُونَ (98).
ولقد اختلف العلماء فى بيان المستقر والمستودع على أقوال شتى .
واستنتج بما تفضل الله على به من علم تحصلته من علوم حديثة ظهرت فى العقدين الأخيرين من القرن العشرين، وأوائل القرن الحادى والعشرين وهى علوم البيولوجيا الجزيئية أن أوضح أن المستقر والمستودع أعم وأشمل مما تكلم به العلماء السابقون
