إحدى المفاجأت التي سيجدها القارئ في هذا الكتاب "مزامير كنعانية" أن مؤلفه محمد سرسك يعالج فيه، بنصوص تجمع بين القصص والخواطر والوتريات والحكايات الأسطورية والخرافية والأدب الشعبي، في مزيج ممتع يستوقف القارئ من حين لأخر، بأسلوبه البسيط والعفوي، والذي لا يخلو من فتنة السرد، ومن عبق الشعر، فصولا من حكاية الجراح التي لم تلتئم من جراح الفلسطينيين في القدس وعكا وحي الفاخورة وغيرها من قرى وبلدان واحياء واجهت بلدوزر المحو الصهيوني بصدور عارية، لكنها صلبة، ومقاتلة وتثبت، ولا تهزم، تعاند، ولا تلين.
تذكرنا هذه النصوص، والخواطر، بما كان المتقدمون يقولونه: خير كلام ما قلت حواشيه، وكثرت معانيه. ومحمد سرسك في هذه النصوص يعظ بما يعمل به. فالنصوص التي يتضمنها الكتاب نصوص وخواطر مكثفة، وموجزة، وينسحب عليها القول المأثور بلا تحفظ.
