- لقد كَانت "ماريا" أو "المُحبّة الحمقاء" واضحة كصفحة السّماءِ فِي صباحٍ بهيّ، عَذبةً كالنهر الزلال، عَابقة بالحبِّ كبستانٍ من البنفسجِ والريحان، لم تكن موارية لفيض مشاعرها، ولا كابحة لجماحِ ما يعتلجُ في صدرها مِن صهوةِ العِشق.
- الحبّ والحمق لا يجتمعان في قلبِ امرئ، لكنّها ظنَّت أنّ اعترافها الذي أُجّل القبول بهِ حمقًا ما كان ينبغي لها الإفصاح عنهُ، وعرضهُ على مرأى عينيّ العزيز "مِيم" زَاد ملامحَ بوحها عبوسًا،
حين نُحبّ؛ فإنّنا نثبط عمل العقل، ليبقى القلب مستوليًا عَلى عرش الإرادة والتفكير.
- كلّ الاعترافات التي كُتبت، قد صِيغت بحبر من قلب ناضحٍ عَمَّا يحملهُ من شُعور، وما يكنه من وجدٍ، وما وهبَ لهُ مِن صبر انتظار.
