أحمد بهاء الدين (1927 - 1996) صحافي مصري . رئيس تحرير مجلة صباح الخير ودار الهلال والأهرام ومجلة العربي الكويتية (1976 - 1982). وكان يكتب المقالات في العديد من الصحف المصرية والعربية تخرج في كلية الحقوق بجامعة فؤاد الأول (جامعة القاهرة حاليا) عام 1946 وقد كان أحد أصغر رؤساء التحرير حين توليه رئاسة تحرير مجلة (صباح الخير) عام 1957 كان أول من هاجم عشوائية سياسة الإنفتاح الإقتصادي المتبعة في عهد السادات و ذلك بمقاله الأشهر السداح مداح وذلك أثناء رئاسته لتحريرالأهرام الجريدة الحكومية شبه الرسمية توفي عام 1996 بعد صراع مع المرض حيث قضى أخر ست سنوات من عمره في غيبوبة طويلة.

جاء كتاب محاوراتي مع السادات كاشفا للتخريب والفساد الذي حدث أيام السادات. وإذا كان كتاب هيكل خريف الغضب هو نفثة غضب بحق فإن كتاب بهاء نفثة عقل أكثر تشريحا لسياسات السادات التي قامت علي الفهلوة: إن الأوضاع التي كشف عنها الانفتاح كانت هي بداية الشرخ الحقيقي بين السادات وبيني شرخ أخذ في الاتساع بعد سنوات كتبت فيها مرارا ضد السداح مداح تحت عناوين التنمية والبناء والاعتماد علي النفس وعدم تكرار مأساة التبعية الاقتصادية لكنني كنت نغمة نشازا كنت أقول للسادات ان أسلوب المساعدات الأجنبية نحونا ليس هو الأسلوب البريء المطلوب. انهم يا ريس لا يريدون لمصر أن تغرق وهم أيضا لا يريدون لها أن تقف علي قدميها! فهم يريدونها طافية علي سطح الماء فقط لا هي غارقة ولا هي تتنفس بحرية.
