في عمق الصحراء وتحت لهيب الشمس الحارقة، تقع جامعة نائية تحمل أسرارًا قاتمة. تدور القصة حول "مريم أغاسا"، الطالبة التي تنتقل لهذه الجامعة لتحقيق في جريمة غامضة. الأمور تأخذ منحى خطيرًا بعد العثور على جثة في ظروف غامضة. بينما ترتفع حرارة الطقس وتتصاعد التوترات، تجد مريم نفسها عالقة وسط تحقيق شائك، حيث تصارع لكشف الحقيقة والنجاة من المصير الغامض الذي يحيط بالجميع. الرواية تتناول موضوعات الثقة، الخيانة، والغموض، حيث تتحقق مريم أن ما يبدو واضحًا ليس دائمًا كما يظهر(لغز بين الرمال).
