صحفي وكاتب مصري، من مواليد القاهرة 21 فبراير 1914م، ويعد من أهم الصحفيين المصريين، وقد أصدر العديد من المؤلفات الأدبية والصحفية، كما سجل تجربته القاسية في المعتقل السياسي في تسعة كتب وروايات هي سنة أولى وثانية وثالثة ورابعة وخامسة سجن، وكذلك روايات هي صاحب الجلالة الحب وصاحبة الجلالة في الزنانة، تحولت روايته سنة أولى حب إلى فيلم ثم تحولت رواياته (لا) و(الآنسة كاف) إلى تمثيليات إذاعية ثم تلفزيونية، صحفي وكاتب مصري، من مواليد القاهرة 21 فبراير 1914م، ويعد من أهم الصحفيين المصريين، وقد أصدر العديد من المؤلفات الأدبية والصحفية، كما سجل تجربته القاسية في المعتقل السياسي في تسعة كتب وروايات هي سنة أولى وثانية وثالثة ورابعة وخامسة سجن، وكذلك روايات هي صاحب الجلالة الحب وصاحبة الجلالة في الزنانة، تحولت روايته سنة أولى حب إلى فيلم ثم تحولت رواياته (لا) و(الآنسة كاف) إلى تمثيليات إذاعية ثم تلفزيونية، كما ألف للسينما أفلام (معبودة الجماهير) و(فاطمة) وكان أول إنتاج له كتابه (أمريكا الضاحكة) عام 1943م والذي نفذت 3 طبعات منه خلال شهريين.

مصطفى أمين يكتب "لا" من وحي السجن الذي دخله بسبب "لا". لا التي تعني رفض التبعية والخنوع والخضوع، رواية حدود واقع راويها زنزانة طوال ثلاثة أمتار في مترين، وحدود حلمه دنيا بلا حدود فيها للحرية مكان... بل هي الحرية. و"عبد المتعال محجوب" تلك الشخصية المحبوبة التي تعلق بها خياله، لنتحدث عنه، بكل ما أخرسته سلطة السجانين داخل السجن من قوله والبوح به.
