بالأمسِ زرتْ بيتَ خالتي، فرأيتُ (فاطمة) ابنتَ خالتي، التي لمْ يتجاوزْ عمرها التسعَ سنواتٍ، وهي في حالةٍ يائسةٍ، ضجرةً وحزينةً، وتبكي بشدَّةٍ... قلتُ لها مستفسرةً: ما بكِ يا فاطمة؟.
راحتْ تشرحْ لي سببَ ذلكَ بكلِّ بساطةٍ وقالتْ: لديَّ قطةٌ صغيرةٌ وجميلةٌ، وقد أحببتْها كثيراً، بعدَ أنْ حصلتْ عليها من صديقتي (هند) قبلَ أيامٍ، ومن حينها وأنا أعتني بها، وأضعْ لها الطعامَ، وأحملها وأداعبُها، فتعلَّقتُ بها وهي تعلَّقَتْ بي تعلّقاً شديداً.
