وفي هذا الكتاب يسلط المؤلف الضوء على سبعة تقاليد عظيمة من الأساطير العالمية خاصة أساطير غرب وجنوب وأواسط آسيا وأوروبا وأمريكا وأفريقيا والأوقيانوس. حيث عرف سكان هذه القارات أساطير عظيمة، مثل أسطورة جلجامش، وأساطير اليونان، وما يتناقله الناس في أوقيانوس بولينيزيا عن أعمال ماوي. وتخطى أساطير اليونان بأهمية خاصة في هذا الكتاب حيث تعتبر الهند بلداً مقدساً بالنسبة لجنوب ووسط وشرق آسيا حيث كان لتعالمي الهندوسية التي جاءت منها أثر كبير على الشعوب التي سكنت في جنوب شرق آسيا.
