في مكان و زمان بعیدین، كانت هنلك أرض تعیش فیها عدة ممالك بسلام، إلا أن مملكة من هذه الممالك تدعى (نیرلوا)، كان لدیها بعض المشاكل مع مملكة أخرى تدعى (فیلو)، حیث أن مملكة (نیرلوا) لدیها بعض الأراضي الغنیة بالذهب، و تدعي مملكة (فیلو) أن تلك الأراضي ملك لها، وترید أخذها بالقوة، إستعملت الكثیر من الأسالیب لأخذ تلك الأراضي، ولكنها لم تستطع.
تبدأ القصة مع بطلنا، والذي كان یعیش في مملكة
(نیرلوا)، ولكنه لم یكن مثل الأبطال الذین نسمع عنهم في القصص الأخرى، فهو لیست لدیه أي قوة خارقة، ولن یحصل علیها، ولم یكن في مملكة یسودها الظلم والفقر، ثم ینهض لیدافع عنها، لیس أي شيء من هذا أیضا، بل كان مجرد فتى عادي، كان والده یعمل طبیبا في المملكة، ووالدته تعمل مع والده، لدیه أخت أكبر منه، وأخ أكبر منه أیضا، ولكن أخاه كان یعمل في الجیش، وقد قتل وهو یدافع عن المملكة، حزن بطلنا كثیرا على وفاة أخیه الأكبر، ولكنه رأى أن والدیه لم یكونا سعیدین بما كان یقوم به أخوه الأكبر، حتى جیرانهم، یقولون أنه ذهب إلى الجیش ودمر حیاته، غیر أنه لم یكن یعتقد ذلك، كان یرى أن أخاه مات وهو یدافع عن مملكته العظیمة (نیرلوا) بشرف، وهو فخور بما قدمه أخاه الأكبر.
قرر بطلنا أنه عندما یكبر سینضم إلى الجیش، من أجل أن یبجل ذكرى أخاه الأكبر بین عائلته والجمیع.
