المتأمل في كتاب "أحمد حسنين", وفيه حصاد رحلته.. "في صحراء ليبيا", يلمس أنه يقدم مادة علمية مهمة للدارسين في علوم الإنسان: الأنثروبولوجيا (المعرفية) والاجتماعية, والإثنولوجية, فضلاً عن النتائج العلمية التي تمس علم طبقات الأرض (الجيولوجيا) بفضل نماذج الصخور التي حملها الرحالة معه, واجتلبها من الجبال الرواسي في الصحراء. وقد قدمت هذه الرحلة مأدبة طازجة يشيع منها نسائم الصحراء ورياحها وعواصفها, قدمت مادة خصبة لعشاق سياحة الصحراء.
يحتفل "أحمد حسنين" إذن بكل ما في الصحراء: حيث يرقب طباع الحيوان الذي يدب على ثراها, ويقلب وجهه في السماء بين النجوم والكواكب السيارة. ثم يقف أمام طقس الصحراء المتقلب, حيث الأجواء التي تغلفها, من برد الصحراء, وحر الصحراء, والسراب الذي يتمايل أمام الناظر في أفق الصحراء, ولحظة الغسق. وهو دائماً حريص على أن يرصد مظاهر التغير الذي يلف الكون والكائنات.
