رواية تدور أحداثها بين زمانين و مكانين مختلفين : بريطانيا و لبنان تقوم على ثلاثة ركائز : فلسفية سياسية و عاطفية
تبدأ الرواية في بريطانيا بمناجاة بطلة الرواية أيار لطبيبها النفسي_ و هو زميلها في المهنة_ بسبب حالتها النفسية العصيبة، تكمل الأحداث في لبنان حين استلم والدها حقيبة وزارية حيث مازالت طالبة تعد أطروحتها لنيل شهادة الدكتورا التي قد ناقشت إشكالياتها و صراعاتها مع صديقتها في حوار فلسفي نفسي يحلل كذلك علامات الإضطراب التي قد لاحظتها على والدها مند مدة مروراً بمحاولات تفسير سبب وقوع الحدث السياسي الذي بدوره أزّم حالته ، و في رحلة إكتشاف الإضطراب تلتقي بالدكتور "أوين" و هو طبيب نفسي يساعدها بتقديم العلاج لوالدها ،
تتطور العلاقة بينهما من علاقة عمل إلى علاقة عاطفية و بطريقة غير متوقعة يكشف الغطاء عن سرٍ خطيرٍ راود حياتها و والدها منذ بداية مسيرته السياسية . تنتهي الرواية في بريطانيا ، الزمن الذي تتحدث أيار عن ما مرت به
