تكلم القرآن الكريم عن مرض يصيب الإبل ويؤدى بها إلى العطش الشديد. ولم يكن هذا المرض معروفا وقت نزول القرآن العظيم إلا من عرض مهم فيه ألا وهو أن الإبل المصابة بهذا المرض تمص الماء مصا دون أن ترتوى مع إقبالها على الماء بشدة ولا يعرف أحد من الناس أسبابه ولا طرق تشخيصه، ولا لماذا تقبل الإبل على شرب الماء بهذه الصورة. ولم يكن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم ولا أهل زمانه فى ذلك الوقت من كل حدب وصوب ولا حتى الحضارات التى كانت منتشرة فى العالم آنذاك كحضارة الفرس والروم، متوفر لديهم جميعا المعارف عن هذا المرض. ولكن فى نهاية القرن العشرين تعرف العلماء على المرض ومسببه وطرق تشخيصه ومسار المرض وطرق العلاج
والهدف من هذا البحث بيان أوجه الإعجاز العلمى فى قول الله تعالى:" فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ "([1]) وذلك من خلال التعريف بمرض الهيم، ولمذا سمى بذلك ؟ وما هو مسببه ؟ وما هو المسار المرضى له داخل الإبل؟ وما هو وجه التمثيل والشبه بحال الكفار فى نار جهنم بالإبل الهيم ؟
