لماذا نطلب علم الحديث؟
نطلب علم الحديث لأنه:
1- لأنه أشرف العلوم.
2- ولأن أهله هم الذين أصبحوا مصابيح الدجى، فلو نظرنا إلى الأئمة الأربعة نجد أن ثلاثة منهم ممن اشتُهروا بالحديث:
فالإمام مالك كتابه (الموطأ) مليء بالأحاديث.
والإمام الشافعي كتابه (الأم) مليء بالأحاديث التي يسوقها بسنده، وهكذا كتاب "الرسالة".
وأما الإمام أحمد فهو قمة أهل الحديث، ولا يُعرف أن الإمام أحمد كتب حرفًا واحدًا في الفقه، مع العلم أنه محسوب في عداد الفقهاء، وكان ينهى تلاميذه عن كتابة الرأي، ويحثهم على كتابة الحديث.
