اللسان نعمة عظيمة كما تقدم فقد يكون سببًا لعطب صاحبه ودخوله جهنم والعياذ بالله، فاللسان عضو صغير لكنه كثير الحركة، صغير حجمه لكنه عظيم فعله، فقد يكون سببًا للرقي في الجنة أعلى الدرجات، والرفعة في الدنيا والآخرة، وقد يكون سببًا لشقاء الإنسان في الدنيا والآخرة، في الدنيا قد يطلقه على الناس كالرصاص فيسب هذا ويشتم هذا، ويغتاب وينم، وما من مشكلة من المشاكل في هذه الحياة إلا واللسان كان سببًا كبيرًا فيها، وإلا لو راقب الإنسان ربه سبحانه في هذا اللسان فلا يقول إلا طيبًا، ويتكلم إلا بخير فكيف تقع المشاكل؟ يستحيل وجود أي مشكلة إذا كان كذلك فإن أخطأ بفعل "ما" فإن اللسان يسارع في ترميم هذا الخطأ بالاعتذار والكلام الطيب المُرضي لمن أخطأ في حقه، وإن حصل خلاف بين اثنين أتى صاحب اللسان الطيب مصلحًا مسمعًا للخصمين أطيب الكلام المرضي للخصمين.
فاللسان أخي الحبيب رحمني الله وإياك سلاح فتاك ذو حدين، إن استعملته فيما يرضي خالقه كان سببًا لجني الحسنات ودخول الجنات، ورضا رب الأرض والسماوات، وإن استعملته فيما يسخط الرحمن كان سببًا في جمع السيئات المسببة دخول نار جهنم والعياذ بالله عز وجل.
