ارتبطت كلمة (عقابيل ) مع المفردات الطبية ، لأنها ذُكرَت ، وأول ما ذُكِرت في اللغة العربية على لسان امرئ القيس ، بأنها (عقابيلُ سُقم) ..فهي إذن من توالي المرض .
ذَكرْتُ بها الحيَّ الجميعَ فهيّجتْ
عقابيلُ سُقمٍ من ضميرٍ وأشجانِ
وكتابُنا (عقابيل ..من الحياة ) ، يحكي قصصاً حياتية اجتماعية مستقاة من معترك الطب ، وهمومه ومرضاه وما يجنحون إليه من عواطف وأحاسيس قد تكون هامشية أو ذاتية ، وقد يتشاركون فيها مع طبيبهم المعالج ، فيضيفون موسيقا روحانية للأعمال الطبية الباضعة ، والتي يعتقد البعض أنها مجرّد أعمال يدوية شبيهة بالجزّار يقتطع لحماً أو الخيّاط يخيط فتقاً ويرقّع ثوباً ..إنها ليست كذلك لأنها تتعامل مع الإنسان أولاً ..لذلك هي إنسانية .. والإنسان هنا ليس جثة هامدة للتشريح والتعليم ، ولكنه حيّ بكتلة الأحاسيس التي يحملها !
ولو خدّرته كلّياً لترخيه وتمنع ألمه وتسكِت أنينه ، ولو عزلت جرحك بالشانات المعقّمة لتلغي جسده ويبقى لك مربّع ساحتك الجراحية ، ولو أجريت عمليتك عن بُعد بالروبوت ، ستبقى مراقباً قلبَه الذي يخفق ، وحريصاً على صحوه وعودته إليك حيّاً معافى .
ويظنّ البعض ، أنّ الجروح تشفى بمجرّد اندمالها ، ولكنه قد يكون اندمالاً معيباً ، فيرث المريض ندبةً تبقى كتوقيع الطبيب الذي لا يُنسى ، وهناك ندبات أيضاً في العاطفة مؤرّقة ومؤلمة قد تبقى في الذاكرة ، فيفيض بها الوجدان على شكل قصص، يرويها المريض ، وقد يرويها الطبيب أيضاً ، ولكل منهما روايته .
ويعتبر هذا الكتاب الذي يتناول قصصاً (ما حول طبية ) ، كجزء ثانٍ يلي الكتاب الأول المنشور (الحب في العناية المشددة ).
