الرواية تتحدث عن طفل في سوريا، حياته، مدرسته، طفولته. كيف حلم ويحلم، علاقته بالعالم الخارجي تمرده المبكر حبه الاول في سن مبكرة لا تتجاوز العشرة من العمر، تأمله الحياة والحركة. حزنه أنه وضع في مكان اكبر من قدرته، تحمله مسؤولية البيت وأخواته الصغار، جلبه المواد الاولية للبيت كالخبز والخضروات وبقية مستلزمات البيت وهو لا يتجاوز العاشرة. وجود طفل في السوق في وقت مبكر من حياته وضعته في مكان ثقيل حرف طفولته، وغير مسار حياته.
