"حكاية الشعر مع الأستاذ نوح حسن حكاية شعر الشعراء العامليين. إنه جبل لم يتخل عن النظم حتى طوال حقب الظلام والجور، بل احتفظ به على صعيد عال. ولئن جرّ التخلف من ذيله على الشعر العربي كافة زمن الأتراك، فإن الانحطاط لم يواجه العامليين في أزمة الظلام والانحطاط. من هنا كان نوح حسن وأمثاله من الشعراء امتداداً لشعر عاملة الرفيع، وربما افترق شعراء عاملة في أغراض شعرهم وفي انطباعاتهم لأمور عدة أو لأمر معين، فليس لهم الافتراق في ولائهم لأهل بيت الرسول عليه السلام.
إنها ثوابت مشتركة فيما بينهم، ومن خلال هذا المعنى يطل شعر شاعرنا عليه مسحة الولاء، وندواة الحب وصرخة الحق. من هنا تشعر وأنت تقرأ شعر نوح، عابداً في صومعة، زاهداً يرى في الناس ما لا يرون فيتألم وربما كانوا يضحكون من كل ذلك كان مديحه بعيداً عن التملق والسياسة وهوى المادة والجاه، أنه شعر هادئ متزن، بعيد عن صخب تنفر منه الآذان ويمله القلب.
وكم التقى في عدة معان مع غيره من الشعراء، فلا عزو فالشعر جادة ربما وقع حافز على حافز، كما قال أحد كبار الشعراء. لئن لم ينوع نوح حسن بأغراض الشعر فابتعد عن الغزل والوصف والرثاء مثلاً فإن انتباهك يسترعيه حكم رائعة ومعان مبثوثة على كل حقل شعره فتزيده ألقاً وإبداعاً وربما أسرك ببعض كلماته الرمزية فتقف مطولاً تريد استكانة معناها وربطها بجو القصيدة العام إنها خاصية شاعرنا، أبعدته عن ثرثرة مملة، وربما كان زاهداً في رسم الصور حتى كان أمر ذلك عنده عفوي الخاطر انطباعياً انطباعية صاحب الديوان الذي كان همه الأول إيصال المعاني وتأكيد ما يعتمل في داخله لتلج إلى عقول الناس دون صخب، لم يتطرق للرثاء إلا في قصيدة يتمية رثى فيها والده، فكان جرحاً أليما سال على لسانه، ولا عزو أن يتطرق والحالة هذه إلى معنى لم يعايش سابقاً عند بقية الشعراء. فالنستمع إليه وهو يقول: "مري أن تكون الأرض لحداً، لقلب ملء كفيه الجهاد".
