الوصف العام للجزء الأول:
تدور أحداث الرواية حول البيت رقم 13 في بلدة صغيرة تُدعى إيدن فيلد، منزل قديم مهجور يحمل أسرارًا مظلمة منذ خمسين عامًا.
كل من يدخل هذا البيت يصبح جزءًا من ذكرياته المظلمة، وينغمس تدريجيًا في عالم من الهواجس والرعب النفسي الذي يختلط فيه الواقع بالكوابيس.
الجزء الأول يأخذ القارئ في رحلة متصاعدة من الغموض إلى الرعب، عبر خمس فصول، تروي اختفاء الأشخاص، ظهور أصوات الأطفال، وهمسات الجدران، وتحول البيت إلى كيان حيّ يتغذى على الذكريات والذنوب.
