Book Description
ابن سلام هو أبو عبد الله محمد بن سلام الجمي البصري، وهو عالم من علماء أواخر القرن الثالث الهجري، وأحد الإخباريين الرواة كما قال فيه صاحب الفهرست، وجملة من أهل الأدب، وهو أحد كبار نقدة الشعر. ولو عدنا إلى متن كتاب الطبقات لابن سلام الجمي لوجدنا من أهم كتب النقد الأدبي حيث أن مؤلفه قد رتبه وفق أسس منهجية تبررها الحقبة الزمنية في عصر المؤلف.
فقد تناول في البداية جملة من الآراء والنظرات الأدبية والمسائل النقدية العامة بروح علمية ونزعة موضوعية، تنطلق من اعتبار الشعر صناعة وثقافة يعرفها أهل العلم كسائر أصناف العلم والصناعات.
ومن ثم تحدث عن طبقات الشعراء حيث أتت دراسته هذه ضمن خمسة أبواب: طبقات الشعراء الجاهليين، طبقة أصحاب المراثي، طبقة شعراء القرى (المدينة ومكة والطائف والبحرين)، طبقة شعراء اليهود، طبقة الشعراء الإسلاميين، حيث صنف لكل طبقة لتأتي ضمن طبقات تبعاً للزمان والمكان والمادة الثانوية.
وبالنظر لأهمية هذا الكتاب فقد اعتنى "محمد سويد" بتحقيقه فاعتنى بشرح الكلمات الغربية وبتشكيلها، وأوضح المعاني والأهداف التي قصدها الشعراء، كما قام بتصحيح بعض الأخطاء اللغوية والتعريف بالأعلام والأماكن، وتصحيح بعض الكلمات ووضع بديل عنها إشارة إلى أنها من المحقق وليست من المؤلف.
