بيّن المؤلف في هذا الكتاب ضرورةَ الإمام من القرآن الكريم والأحاديث النبوية الشريفة. وبيّن أنه عند بعثة إمام الزمان تنتشر الروحانية في العالم حتى إن كثيرا من الناس يتلقّون وحيًا ويرون كشوفًا ورؤًى صادقة. ولكن كل ذلك لا يغنيهم عن مبايعة إمام الزمان. لأن ذلك النور إنما نزل عليهم بسبب بعثة إمام الزمان. ثم ذكر ما يستلزم منصب الإمامة من أخلاق عالية وقوةٍ للإمامة وبسطةٍ في العلم وعزيمةٍ وإقبالٍ على الله وكشوفٍ ووحيٍ وغيرها. كما ذكر عشر علامات للوحي الرباني تميّزه عن الوحي الشيطاني.
