تدور أحداث الرواية حول (حياة) الطبيبة النفسية والتي تملُك مشفى خاص بها عِندما تلتقي بحالة ليست كغيرها وهي (لُقى) التي خُذلت مِن الذين حولها كانت تشعر بأنها منبوذة، سيئة ولا تنتمي لِأي مكان، حتى تولت علاجها حياة وجعلت لِحياتها حياة جديدة وأعطتها أغلى ما تملُك، تتوالى الأحداث لِتكشُف أسرارهن الدفينة والصراعات التي لا تشهد عليها إلا النفس.
