يحدثنا المؤلف حسين محمد يوسف في هذا الكتاب عن البيت المطهر وفضل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على العالمين، وحب الصحابة للنبي، وكيف أن حب أهل البيت من الإيمان، وكيف أن أهل البيت هم أهل العلم ودعاة الحق، وفضيلة الصلاة على أهل البيت، ويستعرض الكثير من صور حب السلف لأهل البيت وغير ذلك من التفاصيل التي استغرقها الفصل الأول من الكتاب، وفي الفصل الثاني يحدثنا عن أبناء الزهراء، ومكانتهم، ويفرد الفصل الثالث للحديث عن سيرة الحسن رضي الله عنه وصفاته وشمائله وحتى استشهاده، ويحدثنا في الفصل الرابع عن الحسين رضي الله عنه وسيرته، ثم يفرد الفصل الخامس للحديث عن رأس سيد شباب أهل الجنة وقبره، والفصل السادس للحديث عن السيدة زينب رضي الله عنها، ثم في الفصل السابع يتحدث عن التحول من الخلافة إلى الملك، وفي الفصل الثامن يتناول مسألة الخروج والهجرة في سبيل الله وهنا يتناول بالتفصيل قرار الحسين بالخروج من المدينة، ثم في الفصل التاسع يتحدث عن المسير من مكة إلى كربلاء، وفي الفصل العاشر يتحدث عن المعركة التي دارت، ويستمر المؤلف في السرد والتفصيل حتى الفصل الحادي والعشرين.
