وضع فنجانه الفارغ على طاولة أمامه، إلى جانب تمثال صغير، نصفي من النحاس المعتق "الإيبوقراط"، وحين نهض، بدت قامته المديدة في الصالون الأنيق، الذي أشرفت على ترتيبه يد عارفة وخبيرة بأساليب المدن، وقد شابها انحناء واضح في تقارب الكتفين، وانحناء الظهر، لم يقلل من رشاقتها الرياضيّة، بينما شعره السبط يسترسل، وقد تدلت خصلة جثلة على الجبين منه
