في غرفة نومي المطلة على الجهة الشرقية من مطار دبي، كنت أراقب صعود وهبوط الطائرات ليلا. كل سكان المبنى ممن تطل غرفة نومهم على جهة المطار يستطيعون مشاركتي هذا المنظر، غير أن غرفة نومي تتمتع بخصوصية لا يشاركني فيها أحد، حتى جارتي البولندية الشقراء؛ إذ يتصادف مرور الطائرات عند نافذتي نفس لحظة نزول العجلات من بطن الطائرة وهي في طريقها للهبوط، ويتصادف مع لحظة احتضان الطائرة لعجلاتها إذا كانت مسافرة بعيدًا..
كنت أراقب المنظر متخيلاً فرح المسافرين بالوصول الذي يُعلن عنه بشدة صوت نزول العجلات من رحم الطائرة، كصراخ تـوأم يستقبل الحياة.. وصوت الأمـل داخل المسـافرين عندما تبـدأ طائرتهم باحتضان توأمها الأسمر في بداية المشوار.. وبين فرح الوصول وأمل المشوار الجديد كنت ممددًا وحيدًا على سرير لا يهتز.
