هل حدث وأن تقمص إنسان ما إنساناً آخر وتبادل معه الجسد ومازال كلاهما على قيد الحياة؟
التقمّص هو انتقال الروح من جسد بشري إلى آخر، هذه العقيدة ارتبطت بالكثير من المذاهب والطوائف الدينية، ولم تبقَ في إطارها الفلسفي الديني بل تخطتها إلى بُعدٍ علمي حيث سعى علماء التنويم المغناطيسي وعلماء الباراسيكولوجي مثل (مورين برنشتين) و(مايكل نيوتن) و(ايان ستيفنسون) إلى دراسة عدد من الحالات في بلدان كثيرة لإثبات أو نفي التقمّص.
في رواية "زوهار" تتجسد إحدى القصص الواقعية لدى الطائفة الدرزية في سورية، بقصة الدكتور سامي، الذي يهاجر من المدينة إلى نجران إحدى قرى السويداء ليثبت ما حصل معه، بعد أن أُتهم بجريمة قتل لم يرتكبها.
لتبدأ حينها رحلة الحياة الجديدة في إثبات شخصيته القديمة، فيدخل في عمق ديانة التوحيد الدرزية ويخضع لتجربة "دار مقري الوحش" الدار التي مازالت إلى اليوم عامرة ولكن تحوم حولها القصص الغريبة التي تسرد تاريخها الغامض.
قصة الدكتور سامي تكشف الكثير من الحقائق في المجتمعات الدينية المنغلقة، لتبدأ معركة بين قوانين القضاء المدني والمعتقدات الدينية في معركة إثبات الواقع وكشف الحقائق...
فيستند القضاء إلى العلم والمنطق، ويستند الدين إلى الملاحظة والفكر المتوارث..
كما تسلط الرواية الضوء على بعض الحقائق الغامضة في مشافي الأمراض العقلية، وكيفية التعامل مع ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، وتبين المعتقدات المنتشرة لدى العديد من الديانات التي تؤمن بالتقمص بأدلة واضحة وصريحة.
